At HopSkipDrive, safety is not a destination. It's a continuous pursuit. Our Safety Advisory Council, the first of its kind in the student transportation industry, brings together national experts in road safety, interpersonal safety, child development, and youth advocacy to help us set new industry standards for student transportation, ensuring our work is always informed by the best thinking across disciplines.
Today, we're thrilled to announce the newest addition to our Council: Kyndra Webb, a Program Manager at the National Safety Council and nationally recognized expert in child passenger safety.
Deepening Our Expertise in Child Passenger Safety
One of the most important dimensions of student transportation safety is what happens inside the vehicle itself. For children with complex medical and developmental needs, that means the right equipment, the right education, and adults who know how to use both. Kyndra's work speaks directly to this, and her addition to the Council reflects our ongoing commitment to building the most comprehensive safety expertise in the industry.
Meet Kyndra Webb
Kyndra Webb is a Program Manager at the National Safety Council where she oversees child passenger safety programming and curriculum development. She became a Child Passenger Safety Technician in 2013 and a Certified Instructor in 2014, and has since dedicated her career to ensuring that children with diverse and complex needs have access to safe, appropriate transportation.
Kyndra has served on the National Child Passenger Safety Board as both Secretariat and Curriculum Representative. She is also an Instructor for the Safe Travel for All Children and Child Passenger Safety on School Buses enrichment courses, helping professionals across the country raise standards for how they support students with specialized transportation needs.
Her most significant contribution to the field: Kyndra established the first and only statewide adaptive fitting station, expanding funding and access to specialized car seats for children with complex medical and developmental needs. It is the kind of systemic, community-level impact we look for in a Safety Advisory Council member.
"I am looking forward to collaborating with other industry leaders to increase awareness and make a real difference in youth transportation safety. Having spent years training professionals and working directly with families, I know how much the right knowledge and the right tools can change outcomes for children with complex needs. I'm excited to help bring that perspective to HopSkipDrive's work," said Kyndra Webb, Program Manager at the National Safety Council.
"Kyndra's work on child passenger safety, and especially her efforts to expand access to adaptive equipment for children with complex needs, is exactly the kind of expertise that strengthens our Council," said Jen Brandenburger, SVP of Safety at HopSkipDrive. "Her deep knowledge and her tireless commitment to making specialized transportation accessible for every child will help us continue to lead the industry in safety."
Building the Safest Platform for Every Student
Kyndra joins a Council of experts in road safety, interpersonal safety, and child development whose guidance informs our product development, safety policies, and educational programs. Together, they help ensure that as HopSkipDrive grows to serve more students with diverse needs, our commitment to safety grows alongside us.
Please join us in welcoming Kyndra Webb to the HopSkipDrive Safety Advisory Council, where she joins other experts including leaders from Safe Kids Worldwide, Truckers Against Trafficking, and others, whose insights help shape products like in-ride recording and specialty transportation, contributing to our industry-leading safety record and our mission to create opportunity for all through mobility.
